My first journal entry was almost three years ago. Three years, when you think about it, is a long time. Back then, I was nearly through my first year at university, and the second and third years seemed to stretch out to the infinite horizon.

Now I am 17 days away from graduation, and the future looks awfully close.

Oh well. In a studied effort to avoid studying, I went with friends and strangers on a whirlwind tour of France. The tourguides were French teachers, and spoke only French, which was amusing because I didn't speak any. That was ok though - the language of wine and cheese is universal (except for those poor lactose-intolerant souls, I suppose).

Watching the election there was rather fascinating. I even managed to get a t-shirt.
